The Cisco multimode VDSL2 and ADSL2/ADSL2+ Enhanced high-speed WAN interface cards support DSL multimode, including very-high-speed VDSL2 and asymmetric ADSL2/ADSL2+. VDSL2 and ADSL2/ADSL2+ are supported on a single WAN interface, thus providing secure, cost-effective connectivity from small businesses to enterprise branch offices. This 1-port enhanced high-speed WAN interface card (EHWIC) supports multimode DSL over Plain Old Telephone System (POTS) and ISDN. The VDSL2 EHWIC provides 1-port multimode VDSL2 and ADSL2/ADSL2+ connectivity to a WAN. This EHWIC, combined with the Cisco Integrated Services Routers (ISRs), provide high-speed digital data transmission between customer premises equipment (CPE) and a central office. This type of deployment enables service providers and resellers to offer additional services by supporting features for business-class security; voice, video, and data integration; differentiated classes of service (CoS).
